GLL

Why Join Us

It’s an exciting time to join GLL. Our growth and expansion has seen us become the largest and one of the most successful leisure and library service operators in the UK. In 2013, our turnover was in excess of £125million, which is more than double where we were only five years ago. The leisure industry in itself is worth almost £4billion in the UK – and it has continued to grow despite the recession. Despite this success, at GLL we never sit on our laurels and are expanding into more areas such as increasing our presence in libraries, playgrounds, ice-rinks and extreme sports.

As well as providing excellence for our clients and customers, we’re also committed to our employees and aim to be the best employer that we can. In turn, we are proud to have been awarded the IIP (Investors in People) Bronze Award.

Pay

Our policy is to pay our staff well for the jobs that they do and incentivise good performance. Our pay scales are one of the highest in the leisure industry and we commit to paying a living wage. Remuneration rates are assessed regularly to ensure they are in line with the rest of the market and reflect the contribution of individual staff members.

Paid Annual Leave

All permanent contracted GLL staff are eligible for 31 days’ annual leave per year (including Bank Holidays), rising to 36 days after five years' service.

Staff Membership Discount

All staff are entitled to a heavily discounted membership for use of our facilities.

Ownership & Empowerment

GLL is an employee-owned organisation. All permanent staff are invited to take up Society membership which would enable you to become active in the management of the company. We were the first leisure company of its kind to have this status.

Career Development & Training

All staff undergo continuous professional development through a range of learning resources. Right from when you join GLL, we will work together to draw up a personal development plan which will outline your objectives and how you can achieve them. With dedicated career paths, there is a wealth of opportunity for the right people. Our training has even won us awards, including the London Regional Training Award, The Edge Award and the Enterprising Solutions Award. Most of our training is delivered by the London Leisure College – to find out more or even to book yourself onto a course, visit: www.londonleisurecollege.com
